ANTONIO C. PIDO

Antonio C. Pido practices labor and employment law. He also has extensive experience in telecommunications law, criminal, civil, and administrative litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He has participated in several major collective bargaining negotiations and deadlocks: for Hacienda Luisita (2004), Dole Philippines, Inc. (2003 and 2004), Pilipino Telephone Corporation (1997 and 2000), and Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. (1994 to 2000). Among the companies for which he handled labor disputes under compulsory arbitration are San Miguel Corporation, Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc., Ginebra San Miguel, Inc., Cosmos Bottling Company, Pilipino Telephone Corporation, Smart Communications, Inc., Unilever Group, Goodyear Philippines, Inc., Diageo Philippines, Inc., Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank-EDP, Standard Chartered Bank, AB Systems, Inc., Hyatt Regency Hotel, Hotel Intercontinental Manila, and New World Renaissance Hotel Manila. He has also appeared for Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. and Goodyear Philippines, Inc. for labor cases under voluntary arbitration. Mr. Pido has advised clients in their planning, preparation, and implementation of corporate down-sizing programs, as well as company personnel policies. He has lectured in a number of labor education seminars and assisted in the drafting of National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) rules and regulations. He became a Labor Arbiter of the NLRC from 1986 to 1991 and had a brief stint as a partner of Pido, Quimbo & Guades Law Office from 1991 to 1994 before returning to the firm as a partner on January 1994. Mr. Pido graduated from the UP College of Law in 1982 and was a member of the Order of the Purple Feather Honor Society.
